Venues
Events are held in world-class premier venues. A few of the venues we have frequented are:
The Usher Hall
Edinburgh's Usher Hall is one of the world's great concert venues. One of the principle venues of the Edinburgh International Festival, the Usher Hall seats up to 2,400 comfortably, and has recently undergone a major refurbishment. The beautiful Norman and Beard organ has also been restored to its former glory, and has been used by exile in several productions. The Usher Hall is on Lothian Road, Edinburgh, in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle.
The Edinburgh Playhouse
At over 3,000 seats, the Edinburgh Playhouse is Europe's largest theatre, and hosts some of the most popular shows in the UK - from rock musicals to opera and ballet, the venue is used throughout the year, often with long runs, and is one of the Edinburgh International Festival main venues. The venue is well-sited in the city centre at the top of Leith Walk, and a short stroll from Princes Street.
Cape Town City Hall
Cape Town's imposing City Hall is in the centre of town, near the historic Adderly Street and accross the square from the railway station on Grand Parade. The building houses an organ by the same builder (Norman and Beard) as the Usher Hall in Edinburgh, and the backdrop of Table Mountain and location next to the Castle is stunning.
The Edinburgh Festival Theatre
The Festival Theatre has one of Edinburgh's most beautiful theatre interiors, with an intimate feel for a building of its capacity (a little over 1,900), it is perfect for slightly smaller events. The refurbished glass fronted building is something of a city landmark, located next to the Edinburgh University Old College and a short walk from Princes Street.
