An open letter to Destiny Church Edinburgh
Great news that there are churches growing in Edinburgh. Just to stem the tide of decline is wonderful. Origin has taken the step of writing an open letter to Destiny Church Edinburgh of congratulation and (we hope) humble challenges to the road ahead.

Singers and musicians wanted!
Origin Scotland is looking for passionate people to lead in praise and worship of our Lord Jesus at outreach and unity events around Edinburgh and potentially internationally in Africa. Singers should be committed, enthusiastic and able, and while no previous experience is required, the ability to harmonise is valued. A determination to follow Christ is a pre-requisite. For more info, contact Origin on 0131 208 0095 or email info at originscotland.org. More info at www.inexile.net.

More delays in Usher Hall Refurbishment
Origin Scotland has learned that the ongoing delays to the refurbishment of our main venue, Edinburgh's Usher Hall, are now pushing the re-opening of the venue further into the future. Management at the concert hall now expect the venue not to re-open until May 2009. Frustratingly, this means a rethink of our plans for RESURRECTION 09. Watch this space for more info.

RESURRECTION 07 at Ingliston
Origin Scotland is pleased to announce that tickets for Resurrection 07 are now available. The event is at the Royal Highland Centre's Highland Hall in Ingliston. It is being hosted by Origin Scotland, a non-denominational Christian charity that has organised previous events in Edinburgh Playhouse and the Usher Hall. Last year almost 3000 attended the same event in the Usher Hall, which featured special guest Rev Rico Tice, author of Christianity Explored. Many hundreds more were unable to get tickets, prompting the move to the larger venue this year. The Ingliston event will be led by the Exile band, a 100-voice choir and 50-piece orchestra. Origin Scotland has also formed an alliance with The Easter Play, which is to be held in Edinburgh's Princes' Street Gardens the previous day, to promote the weekend as a celebration of Holy Week. It will be accompanied by the launch of the new edition of the Scottish Christian Missions Guide and a missions exhibition. Tickets for the event are available from the Faith Mission Bookshop on Gilmerton Road. Further information about the event can be found at www.resurrection07.com

Origin Scotland seeks office space in Edinburgh
Origin Scotland is in urgent need of office space in Edinburgh, preferably somewhere near the centre of town. As we are a charity with no rull-time staff, and no paid staff at all, we cannot afford commercial property, however we are appealing to the Christian community in Edinburgh to help our search! Any church who might be able to help in providing a room we can use for storage, meeting and office space, please contact colin at originscotland dot org. The need is quite urgent as we have been looking now for two years and have not yet been able to find a home.

Origin opens register for volunteer musicians
Origin Scotland has opened a register for musicians willing to serve as volunteers in events in Scotland and South Africa. Talented musicians of minimum Grade 7 standard are invited to join the pool of musicians that make up the orchestras, bands and musical groups within Origin Scotland/South Africa. Commenting on the protection of the data provided, Colin Peckham, Origin's artistic director said "we take people's personal privacy extremely seriously. Origin will never pass on a musician's personally identifiable information outside of the Origin Group and our ministry partners. However, this new database will make it much easier for those willing to be involved to be part of the exciting programmes planned for our region. Depending on the person's level of experience and abililty, auditions may or may not be required for registration to be complete - we have no hard-and-fast rule on that, it depends on the individual." Interested parties can see more details and sign up online at the exile choir and orchestra website, www.inexile.net.
